This file describes the simplest way to set up OtherMenu. The OtherMenu Manual gives more details about how to use OtherMenu and how you can customize OtherMenu’s behavior to fit your preferences.
1. Move or copy the OtherMenu file (the one with the round icon) into your Extensions folder, which is inside your System Folder. If you drag the OtherMenu icon over the System Folder icon and drop it, the Finder will know to put it into the Extensions folder.
2. Move the Volume Watch file into the Startup Items folder, which is inside the System Folder.
3. Restart your Mac. You should then see the OtherMenu icon on your menu bar. When you click on that icon, you should see a menu which has a submenu for each mounted disk, plus “About OtherMenu” at the end.
4. Open up your System Folder, and find a folder named OtherMenu Folder. Drag the Externals folder that came with OtherMenu onto the OtherMenu Folder and drop it. Thereafter, when you pull down OtherMenu’s menu, you should see a new item, Externals, with a submenu containing the names of the individual externals.
